大家好!Hello, everyone!My name is Dr. Emily M. Matson and I am an Assistant Teaching Professor at Georgetown University with a joint appointment in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service's Asian Studies Program and the College of Arts and Sciences' History Department. I received my PhD in Modern Chinese History from the University of Virginia in fall 2020. I am a passionate historian and educator, and have taught a variety of courses in modern East Asian History at American University, the College of William and Mary, and Randolph College.
As of July 1st, I am excited to announce that I am an invited Stephen M. Kellen term member on the Council on Foreign Relations. Last year, I began my involvement with CFR as an Education Ambassador. In addition, I am an invited member on the National Committee on United States-China Relations (NCUSCR). In 2021-2022, I was a Wilson Center China fellow, and I am also currently a research affiliate at the University of Virginia's East Asia Center.
